Very rare Carvin LB50 stereo bass (notice the two jacks), with a four digit serial number that should make it early 1979 production. 1979 Carvin LB50 Bass Guitar Rare One! - $400 (DENHAM SPRINGS)īought this originally back around 1995 used from Be-Bop Music Store and it had been gigged to death. This set is in near perfect condition showing very little signs of use for it's age. This set was so cool for it's time, it's featured in the Carvin Musical Instrument's Museum. This is a Vintage 1970's Carvin USA Model: ST2400 125 Watt Head W/Matching Carvin Cabinet with 6-10" Speakers. Vintage 70's Carvin ST2400 Bass/ Guitar Head W/Matching 6-10" Cab - $549 (Pickers Paradise). This bass guitar is well known among Carvin collectors. Bass has never been dropped, has never had beer poured on it, or has been vomited on (yes I have seen this happen more than you think.) Bass comes complete with the original custom made case in great condition. Bass was in storage for approximately twelve years while I left the music business to start a family. I used it for hard rock and metal for years. The neck is a glued in neck and the bass has fantastic tone and sustain. Some of the black chrome has worn off the Kahler tremolo over the years but the tremolo is fabulous. There is also a hole for an alternate strap lock below the neck on the body. There is a nick in the top paint (picture with my finger pointing to it) and a dent along the bottom edge of the body covered by a yellow and black sticker. Original case from Carvin (special order)īass has normal wear and tear for an item prized by its owner. Kahler Pro-Bass tremolo (special option at an additional $300) Original Carvin M22 double stacked humbucker in the neck position Solid Mahogany body and neck (special option) I am the original owner and have only allowed two other people to hold it - ever. This is a nice, vintage, playable lapsteel guitar. This is a very rare model bass guitar produced by the Carvin Corporation in California only from 1987 through 1988. The original Kluson tuners are included but had a couple of broken-off shafts - may be fixable? But these replacements work fine. Tuners were replaced with older Kay machines which fit into that small cavity well. Clear lacquer over maple body finish, which is in generally good condirion with some nicks and overall wear associated with age. Original Bakelite tailpiece and nut shimmed with pick guard material custom sized. Wiring and controls are original to my knowledge and work great. Pickup was replaced with Gretsch steel 6 single coil pickup. I have seen generic replacements available in other websites. It is in good playable condition and equipped with GHS Boomer Hawaiian strings. You could pick up some really great equipment from this. To help shift the last of its stock, the firm is offering a 25 discount on new products. If Active/Passive, then one of the knobs with the detent is your pickup blend. Ive owned a few of these over the years but not one with the 5 knobs. I am familiar with most of the designs but dont know when they went from 4 to 5 controls. This closure is a great shame, I think, as they have made some great products, including the Carvin Legacy signature guitar amplifier for Steve Vai. Carvin was not using toggle switches from 1990. A 1960s/70's era 6 string lap steel guitar by Carvin. This US company has been around for 70 years.
